In 2021, James J. Periconi donated his collection of Italian-language American imprints to Queens College Library's Special Collections and Archives. Lovingly curated over multiple decades, the collection consists of over 500 items that provide unique insight into what Italian immigrants to the United States were reading, writing, and thinking about at the end of the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries.
This month, in collaboration with the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute and with the support of James J. Periconi, the Library is hosting two visiting fellows who will be conducting research with the collection for two to four weeks. Learn more about the inaugural Fellows and their research interests on the Periconi collection website.
On November 14th from 12:15-1:30, members of the campus community are invited to meet these distinguished scholars and learn about how they are using the Periconi collection in their research.
Please register, as lunch will be provided!
